Benevine is pleased to announce that we have received our official letter of approval from the Internal Revenue Service giving us 501(c)(3) non-profit, charitable status.
We started our adventure of becoming a charitable organization in 2015 and with the help of our board members, Rebecca Kennedy, LaVar McCline, Allison Hannon, and Lisa Kessler, we were able we able to submit our application to the IRS in December 2017.
On January 17th, 2018 we officially received our letter declaring us a public charity with tax-exempt status under Section 501(c)(3) of the United States Internal Revenue Code. Contributions donated to Benevine are fully tax-deductible. Benevine is also now eligible to apply for government and foundation grants, which will further broaden its access to resources and strengthen its ability to serve the local non-profits and young professionals looking to gain experience while making a difference.
Obtaining 501(c)(3) status is a major milestone for Benevine. This opens many doors for us to expand fundraising activities and fully realize our goals as a charitable organization invested in inspiring potential and building leaders in the industries. Benevine exists to connect young professionals in the greater Pittsburgh area, who demonstrate a passion to serve their community while gaining invaluable career experience, with local nonprofits in need of industry specific assistance through collaborative, memorable, and innovative opportunities. We are redefining involvement one day at a time.
Benevine Tax’s Identification Number (EIN) is 81-1392627. The IRS letter granting Benevine its 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status is available upon request. We would like to thank everyone who supported Benevine and assisted us in reaching this monumental milestone.
